Soccer Game Preview: Saint James vs. Cumberland Valley Christian

The Saint James Saints will face off against the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint James' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Saint James is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Potomac School, who was ranked 17th in their home state at the time (Saint James was ranked 14th). The Saints lost 4-0 to the Panthers on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Grace Academy on Monday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for Cumberland Valley Christian in their meetings with Grace Academy: they've now lost eight in a row.

Micah Ramsey and Manuel Lopez scored both of Cumberland Valley Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Cumberland Valley Christian now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for Saint James, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1.

Saint James came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Blazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
