Basketball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Cypress Springs

Cypress Springs entered their tilt with Cypress Woods on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They breezed by the Cypress Woods Wildcats to the tune of 69-30. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Cypress Springs was led to victory by Jemini Mitchell and Ayla Mcdowell. Mitchell almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards, while Mcdowell went 10 of 21 on her way to 21 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Mcdowell's evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Belizeard, who posted 11 points.

Cypress Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Cypress Springs pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Cypress Woods, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.
