Baseball Recap: Idabel Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Idabel and Sallisaw had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Idabel lost 11-4 to Sallisaw on Monday. The Warriors have struggled against the Black Diamonds recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Anthony Clay made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Brayden Fielder also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Idabel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Sallisaw, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

While Idabel had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
