Softball Recap: Nazareth Area Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Nazareth Area extended their postseason success on Thursday against Cumberland Valley. They won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Eagles.

Kylie Grover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Alina Weaver was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Shauna McNamee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Nazareth Area's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cumberland Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Nazareth Area will take on Hempfield Area on Monday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Blue Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Cumberland Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
