Basketball Game Preview: Hebbronville Longhorns vs. Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions

Hebbronville is 0-10 against Santa Gertrudis Academy since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Hebbronville Longhorns will host the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions at 1:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hebbronville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Orange Grove on Monday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 29-27.

Meanwhile, Santa Gertrudis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Cornerstone Christian, falling 77-52. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1431st, while the Warriors are ranked 102nd).

Hebbronville's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Hebbronville suffered a grim 66-45 defeat to Santa Gertrudis Academy in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hebbronville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
