Tolleson extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping them down to 6-3. They came up short against  the Verrado Vipers, falling  63-38. The Wolverines gained 62 more yards on the day, but it was the Vipers that made the best use of them.

 Tolleson's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Youngmin Lee, who threw for 341 yards and four  touchdowns, and  Rico Blassingame, who picked up 169 receiving yards and three  TDs. With that strong performance,  Blassingame is now averaging an impressive 107.4  receiving yards per game.  Quentin Gavin also helped out as he racked up 112 receiving yards.
As for Verrado, their  win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
  Malachi Wilt produced another solid  effort throwing for 332 yards and five  touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Verrado's success: when he posts  at  least 300  passing yards the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).  Jesse Abundes helped  Wilt out on the ground, rushing for 58 yards and three  scores on only five carries.
 Looking ahead, Tolleson is taking a road trip to  take on Canyon View  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. As for Verrado, they will welcome Kellis  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Vipers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.22  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
