Football Recap: Castle View Falls to Mullen in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Castle View unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. The contest between the Sabercats and the Mullen Mustangs didn't end well, with the Sabercats falling 30-13. The Sabercats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Hudson Rodarte threw for 50 yards while completing 75% of his passes. Chase Cassese was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Dante Dupuch went supernova For Mullen., rushing for 128 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Koa Dietrich, who threw for 157 yards and one TD.

The win got Mullen back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Castle View will challenge Chaparral at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mullen, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ralston Valley at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
