Volleyball Game Preview: Flandreau Fliers vs. Castlewood Warriors

Flandreau hasn't had much luck against Castlewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Fliers will challenge the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Flandreau turned things around against Flandreau Indian on Friday. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Fliers yet this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Flandreau took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-9, 25-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Castlewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Oldham-Ramona/R on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Castlewood was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-9.

Flandreau's victory bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Castlewood, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.

Flandreau might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Castlewood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Fliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
