Softball Game Preview: Nooksack Valley Pioneers vs. Lynden Lions

After both having extra time off, the Nooksack Valley Pioneers and the Lynden Lions will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Nooksack Valley came up short against Oak Harbor and fell 7-4. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Alayna Dykstra was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Lynden had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four last Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 14-0 shutout. That looming 14-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Lynden now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Nooksack Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
