The North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers will challenge the Liberty County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Bay Haven Academy has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
North Bay Haven Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Marianna on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 12-11. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Simmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Waylon King was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.
Simmons wasn't the only one working in the hit department: North Bay Haven Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marianna only managed ten hits.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Liberty County, as they earned their first road win of the season. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sneads 4-3.
The team relied heavily on Gavin Jerkins, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
North Bay Haven Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Liberty County, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
North Bay Haven Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. North Bay Haven Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Liberty County, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Bay Haven Academy continue to outrun the ball?
North Bay Haven Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty County in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-5. Will North Bay Haven Academy repeat their success, or does Liberty County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
