Basketball Recap: Bellaire Takes a Loss

If Bellaire was feeling good fresh off their 60-23 takedown of Forest Area last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bellaire Eagles fell to the Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals 38-32. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Bellaire now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellaire will venture away from home to challenge Onaway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Onaway has won four straight at home, while Bellaire won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will head out to take on St. Mary Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary Cathedral's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Johannesburg-Lewiston's offense will have their work cut out for them.
