Volleyball Recap: Azle Takes a Loss

Azle lost against Brennan back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hornets fell 2-0 to the Bears.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brennan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rubie Mares, who had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Mares has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Mia Nunez, who had nine digs and two assists.

Azle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Brennan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Azle will square off against Midlothian Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brennan, they will host Harlan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
