Baseball Recap: Charlestown Comes Up Short

If Charlestown was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Clarksville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 11-1 to the Providence Pioneers on Friday. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Charlestown's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Providence, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Charlestown and Providence could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Pirates will take on Silver Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (102 vs. 29). Meanwhile, Providence (ranked 38th) will meet Trinity (ranked third) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
