Softball Recap: Corinth Wins Going Away Against Clarksdale

While Corinth put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Clarksdale. The Warriors blew past the Wildcats 14-0. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Kinley Pittman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pittman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Chloe Sanders was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Maggie Parchman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Corinth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Corinth's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Clarksdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corinth will venture away from home to challenge West Point at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarksdale, they will head out to take on Simmons at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
