The Patterson Tigers will face off against the Central Catholic Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Patterson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Patterson barely beat Sierra the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Patterson was the clear victor by a 19-2 margin over Sierra on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Isabelle Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Elizabeth Zavala was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jazmine Isom was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Patterson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Patriots. Three seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Braelyn Avila spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ceriah Fitzhugh, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Central Catholic pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Patterson, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Central Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Patterson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Central Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Patterson keep running through batters, or will Central Catholic buck the trend?
Patterson might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Patterson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
