Preview: Colleyville Heritage Panthers vs. North Side Steers
Colleyville Heritage is 1-0 against North Side since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Colleyville Heritage Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Side Steers at 7:00 a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Colleyville Heritage had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Arlington Heights, posting a 42-7 victory at home. With Colleyville Heritage ahead 21-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Luke Ullrich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Ullrich's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Blueitt, who picked up 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Side got themselves on the board against Trimble Tech on Friday, but Trimble Tech never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 35-0 on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point North Side had established a 21 point advantage.
Deandre Montgomery was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns. North Side also got help from Lorenzo Perez who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.
Colleyville Heritage has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven games, giving them a 6-1 record. As for North Side, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Colleyville Heritage against North Side in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 52-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colleyville Heritage since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
