Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Northeastern couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centerville Bulldogs. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, Northeastern got some senior leadership from Noah Payne and Tre Vanlandingham. Payne shot 43% from the field on his way to 16 points and five assists, while Vanlandingham posted 14 points and five assists. Sam White was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 24-2. As for Centerville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.

Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centerville, they and Parke Heritage will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Centerville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
