Football Recap: Heritage Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Heritage had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 33-14 bruising from the Bridgeport Indians on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Virginia, while the Indians are ranked third in West Virginia).

Bridgeport's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Heritage will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Appomattox County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridgeport, they are taking a road trip to take on East Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
