Baseball Recap: St. Bernard's Crusaders vs. McKinleyville Panthers

St. Bernard lost against McKinleyville last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The St. Bernard's Crusaders took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McKinleyville Panthers. St. Bernard's has not had much luck with McKinleyville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Tyler Hinrichs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Mateo Gutierrez was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.

On McKinleyville's side, Evan Fraser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. Fraser has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Kolbey Stolpe was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Sargent, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
