Basketball Preview: Dublin Jerome Celtics vs. New Albany Eagles
After two games on the road, Dublin Jerome is heading back home. They will take on the New Albany Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dublin Jerome is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Ohio (the Celtics are ranked 78th, while the Eagles are ranked 284th).
Last Friday, Dublin Jerome strolled past the Bears with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.
Elliana Baker went supernova for Dublin Jerome, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Lauren Ludwig was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, New Albany's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 35-26 to Groveport-Madison.
Dublin Jerome's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for New Albany, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Dublin Jerome came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 40-33. Thankfully for Dublin Jerome, Isabelle Arguelles (who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
