Baseball Recap: Charlestown Takes a Loss

After flying high against Austin on Thursday, Charlestown came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 5-1 to the Floyd Central Highlanders on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost five in a row.

Charlestown's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Floyd Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlestown will face off against Brownstown Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Floyd Central, they will take on New Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight.
