Softball Recap: Monroe Catholic Comes Up Short

Monroe Catholic lost against Lathrop back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Malemutes. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monroe Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anya Chernich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Emma Born, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Monroe Catholic now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lathrop, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.

Coming up, Lathrop will take on Delta at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monroe Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Malemutes' game: after the Malemutes face off against the Huskies, they'll take on Monroe Catholic again at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
