MJ Patton leads Mercer Christian Academy to victory over Lewisburg Baptist Academy

The Mercer Christian Academy Cavaliers waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They blew past Lewisburg Baptist Academy 69-43. Mercer Christian Academy pushed the score to 53-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Lewisburg Baptist Academy had little chance of recovering from.

MJ Patton was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Patton, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.

Lewisburg Baptist Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Beane, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Isaac Holliday was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Lewisburg Baptist Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mercer Christian Academy racked up 13 assists.

Mercer Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Lewisburg Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Mercer Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Morgantown Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lewisburg Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Pipestem Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lewisburg Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
