Softball Game Preview: St. Bede Bruins vs. Seneca Fighting Irish

St. Bede is 0-9 against Seneca since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bruins will square off against the Fighting Irish at 4:29 p.m. St. Bede is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.

St. Bede is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Prairie Central 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bruins have posted since May 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, Seneca made easy work of Bishop McNamara on Friday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 29 matchups by six runs or more this season.

St. Bede's win bumped their record up to 30-4. As for Seneca, their victory bumped their record up to 35-2.

St. Bede suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Seneca in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
