Softball Recap: Wasatch Wasps vs. Springville Red Devils

Wasatch had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-14 to make it four. They lost 20-8 to the Springville Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in March.

Liana Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Sydnee McPhie was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

As for Springville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Springville's side, the team relied heavily on Brooklynn Richardson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave Richardson a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Morgan Fairbourne, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
