The Lake Park Lancers will head out to take on the Glenbard North Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Park has given up an average of 28 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lake Park is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They lost to Geneva on the road by a 35-17 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Vikings are ranked 28th).
Although Lake Park took the loss, they still got scores from Ian Witt and Emanuele Carrozzoli.

Even if they lost, Lake Park's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Joey Michelini was especially locked on to Geneva's QB and sacked him twice. Michelini has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Glenbard North challenged Wheaton-Warrenville South on Friday. The Panthers took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Lake Park will have to keep a close watch on Donato Gatses and Zechariah Morris, a pair of players who had a big impact on Glenbard North's prior game. Gatses rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown, while Morris gained 118 total yards and two touchdowns.
Glenbard North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lake Park, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Lake Park has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 172.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Glenbard North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 212 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Lake Park beat Glenbard North 29-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
