Softball Recap: Wimberley's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It's playoff time, and Wimberley had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Manor New Tech a 10-0 shutout on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Thursday.

Wimberley got a great performance from Charlotte Woodward as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Bailey Wright was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emorie G, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Wimberley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manor New Tech only posted a batting average of .071.

Wimberley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-16. As for Manor New Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7-1.

Wimberley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Manor New Tech: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
