The Trinity Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Gila Bend Gila Monsters at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Trinity Christian beats Gila Bend with ten runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Warriors beat Holy Family Academy on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Josh Partin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Carson Matock was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Connor Wallace, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Gila Bend made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wickenburg Christian Academy on Friday. The Gila Monsters blew past the Lion 13-7.
Like Trinity Christian, Gila Bend also got a great game from a two-way player: Easton Fernandez. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Fernandez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Gila Bend's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Crash Davis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Zadrian Enos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Gila Bend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average this season. As for Gila Bend, their record now sits at 4-2.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Trinity Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. However, it's not like Gila Bend struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Trinity Christian's way against Gila Bend when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Trinity Christian made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
