Football Recap: La Pine Hawks vs. Klamath Union Pelicans

La Pine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Klamath Union Pelicans and fell 38-10. The Hawks lost against the Pelicans in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 27-26 score last time.

A big part of Klamath Union's win came down to the chemistry between Reese Johnson and his top target Gavin Coe. Johnson threw for 376 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt while Coe picked up 260 receiving yards and three scores. That's the most passing yards Johnson has posted since back in September of 2024. Tildon Coffman was in the mix too, providing Klamath Union with two TDs.

La Pine's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Klamath Union, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
