Football Game Preview: Burroughs Bombers vs. Herculaneum Black Cats

The Burroughs Bombers will face off against the Herculaneum Black Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Herculaneum took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Burroughs, who comes in off a win.

Burroughs played against Confluence Prep Academy/Grand Center Arts Academy on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Burroughs is facing Herculaneum at the wrong time: Herculaneum suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 35-26 to the Dragons. While the Black Cats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dragons 14-8 in the first quarter.

The win (which was Burroughs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average over those games. As for Herculaneum, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
