Kennard-Dale is a perfect 7-0 against Dover since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will host the Eagles at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennard-Dale has nine straight victories, Dover has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Kennard-Dale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let York Suburban get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Jake Harris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ryan Perzanowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Micah Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Kennard-Dale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Dover came up short against New Oxford on Wednesday and fell 7-4.
Mason Murdock was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Kennard-Dale's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Dover's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kennard-Dale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. It's a different story for Dover, though, as they've only averaged .182. Will they be able to contain Kennard-Dale's hitters?
Everything went Kennard-Dale's way against Dover in their previous matchup on April 1st, as Kennard-Dale made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
