Softball Recap: Shawnee Braves vs. Houston Wildcats

Shawnee put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Houston Wildcats a 12-0 shutout. Fans of the Braves have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Not much got past Alee Trimmer, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Houston off the board. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Trimmer.

On the hitting side, Byanca Dubie was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Raelynn Botkin, who scored three runs and stole two bases.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will face off against Southeastern Local at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Houston, they will head out to square off against Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
