Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pembroke

Pembroke won against Webber on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Dragons came out on top against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 8-5. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jayden Hootman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reagan Schneider, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Taylor Bischoff was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pembroke lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win got Pembroke back to even at 3-3. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Pembroke and Notre Dame will both be playing Oakfield-Alabama the next time they take the field. The Fighting Irish will head out to face the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dragons will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
