Football Recap: Tyler Gray's Menacing Defense Leads Dublin over Freedom

Dublin won the last time they faced Freedom and Andre Armendariz did his part to make sure it happened again. The Gaels blew past the Falcons 42-20 on Friday for which the team can thank Armendariz, who rushed for 238 yards and four scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

One reason for the win was Dublin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Tyler Gray was especially locked on to Freedom's QB and sacked him three times. Gray has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Dublin received some extra help from Rome Raymore, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Although Freedom took the loss, they still got scores from Ilias Knox, Maurice Hendricks, and Taven Madsen.

Dublin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dublin will square off against Amador Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they will challenge Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Falcons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
