Softball Recap: Dickson County Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Dickson County took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Arlington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars skirted past the Tigers 2-0. The Cougars' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Not much got past Coralee Grove, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Arlington off the board. Grove has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Dickson County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington struck out seven times.

Dickson County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-17-2.

Coming up, Dickson County will square off against Farragut on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.5, the Admirals 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
