Baseball Recap: Cory-Rawson Comes Up Short

Cory-Rawson had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it nine. They came up short against the Perry Commodores, falling 12-1. The Fighting Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Commodores from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cory-Rawson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Moon, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

On Perry's side, Wyatt Taviano was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Taviano a new career-high. Tate Essex was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cory-Rawson will welcome Old Fort at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry, they will face off against Botkins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
