Meanwhile, Contra Costa Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Holy Names by a score of 3-2.
Contra Costa Christian wouldn't go down easily and took Holy Names into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-22, 18-25, 20-25, 15-8.
Despite the loss, Contra Costa Christian had strong showings from Hailey Terwilliger, who had 24 digs, three kills, and two aces, and Scarlett Ringue, who had 12 digs. Terwilliger is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Even though they lost, Contra Costa Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in 11 consecutive matchups.
