Baseball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern's last matchup with Mineral Point could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Wildcats might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-1 to the Pointers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Pointers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mineral Point, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Southwestern has already played their next matchup, a 17-0 defeat against East Dubuque on the 17th. As for Mineral Point, they will take on Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
