Baseball Recap: Mendon Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bangor, Mendon was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Pittsford Wildcats.

Brayden Crites was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Huston, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mendon's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Pittsford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mendon and Pittsford will both be playing Colon the next time they take the field. The Hornets will host the Magi at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
