Soccer Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

Sumner managed to keep up with Gaither until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Stingrays lost 5-1 to the Cowboys. While losing is never fun, Sumner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Gaither are ranked 103rd).

Sumner has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season. As for Gaither, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2-1.

As of now, neither Sumner nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
