Softball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley managed to slip by Rio Grande the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Ravens on Saturday, falling 16-5. The Vikings' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Another was Naliyah Mora, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rio Grande, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-0 win against Highland on the 3rd. As for Rio Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-12 victory against Sandia Prep on the 3rd.
