Volleyball Recap: Kinsey Lister's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Monomoy over Westport

Monomoy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westport Wildcats.

While Monomoy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 11 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Monomoy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kinsey Lister, who had 13 digs, eight kills, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Ella Cutter, who had 20 assists and ten digs.

Monomoy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Westport, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Monomoy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Sturgis West on the 17th. As for Westport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Wareham on the 17th.
