Soccer Game Preview: Wakefield vs. Langley

The Wakefield Warriors will face off against the Langley Saxons at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Friday, Wakefield didn't have quite enough to beat Washington-Liberty and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Wakefield in their meetings with Washington-Liberty: they've now lost three in a row.

Wakefield's goal came courtesy of Erik Vasquez Ayala, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Langley fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Majors by a score of 1-0. Langley have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 6-3-2. As for Langley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Wakefield took their win against Langley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Saxons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
