Softball Recap: Johnson Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Johnson Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars 5-3. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars / Lady Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Keylee Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mayson Delong, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Johnson Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Letcher County Central, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Johnson Central and Letcher County Central will both be playing Madison Central the next time they take the field. Letcher County Central will host Madison Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Johnson Central will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
