Softball Game Preview: Zane Trace Pioneers vs. Unioto Shermans

Zane Trace is 1-9 against Unioto since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shermans at 5:15 p.m. Unioto took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Zane Trace, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Zane Trace turned things around against Paint Valley on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bearcats a 6-0 shutout.

Zane Trace's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddison Will, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Will a new career-high.

Zane Trace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Unioto lost 11-1 to Chillicothe on Thursday.

Unioto's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Zane Trace, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
