Mercer put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Clarion-Limestone Lions by a score of 56-45. The 56-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Clarion-Limestone lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Paul Craig, who posted 14 points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave Craig a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jase Ferguson, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Mercer pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Clarion-Limestone, their record now sits at 3-3.

Mercer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will host Fort LeBoeuf at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort LeBoeuf is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
