Soccer Game Preview: Martin vs. Juarez-Lincoln

Martin is 2-7 against Juarez-Lincoln since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Martin came up short against Palmview and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Martin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 515th, while Palmview are ranked 116th).

Meanwhile, Juarez-Lincoln had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Mustangs 5-1. Juarez-Lincoln might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by four goals or more this season.

Martin now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for Juarez-Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Martin suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Juarez-Lincoln when the teams last played back in January. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
