Softball Recap: Forestville Central Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Forestville Central won against Clymer/Sherman on Wednesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Hornets didn't even let the Ellicottville Eagles on the board, marking the Hornets' second-straight 2-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Megan Gruber's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emily Lilllie was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Forestville Central and bumps their season record up to 13-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Ellicottville, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

As of now, neither Forestville Central nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
