Football Game Preview: Lakeside Panthers vs. Greenbrier Wolfpack

The Lakeside Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside is looking for their season's first victory.

Things were looking good for Lakeside after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Statesboro. On the bright side, the 29- point effort marked the Panthers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Lakeside might have lost, but man, Matthew White was a machine: he picked up 134 receiving yards and three scores. White showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 51 yards.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier fought the good fight in their overtime contest against South Effingham on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 34-28 to the Mustangs.

Lakeside will have to contain Parker Brantley as he made an impact in Greenbrier's last game. He threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 96 yards and one TD.

Lakeside's record is now 0-7. As for Greenbrier, their record now sits at 1-5.

Lakeside strolled past Greenbrier in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
