Basketball Game Preview: Kinston Vikings vs. North Lenoir Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Kinston Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the North Lenoir Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Kinston is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering East Duplin just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 26-24. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, North Lenoir came up short against Southwest Onslow on Tuesday and fell 43-34. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Stallions recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

North Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Kinston, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-2.

Kinston didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against North Lenoir in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kinston since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
